5 Steps for An At Home Spa Day

We all deserve a little pampering from time to time. Are you feeling stressed, tired, overworked, or just in need of a little “me” time? No need to rush out to a spa and spend hundreds of dollars – you can treat yourself to a lovely relaxation right in your own home! Here are our favorite DIY Spa Day Activities.

1.Prep

The most important part of a relaxing spa day is the right environment. Choose a time when you know your space will be quiet, let your friends and/or family know that you’re having some “me” time, and turn off your distracting electronics! Gather all of your supplies – face mask, foot bath, foot scrub, body scrub, moisturizers, towels, etc. – turn on some relaxing music, and get ready to sit back and pamper yourself!

2.Face

The skin on our face is forced to handle so much wear and tear every day between sunlight, makeup, oil, dirt, and stress, so I always love giving it a little extra TLC. Start by washing your face with your favorite gentle cleanser, just to remove makeup and prepare your skin (I recommend our Earthly Dreams Cleansing oil, it’s the only makeup remover I ever use!). Then, apply your selected face mask. My personal favorite is our Green Goddess of the Earth facial mask – it is a wonderful exfoliate and is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-septic, so it leaves your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. If your skin is more sensitive or problematic, try the Skin Repair Mask. It is designed to draw impurities from the skin while also rejuvenating and repairing!

3.Feet

After applying your face mask, choose a comfy chair and put your feet in your pre-prepared foot bath. Our Revitalizing Foot Soak is perfect for overworked, tired feet and will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Our Sanitizing Foot Soak is better for those with common issues like foot fungus – it will help sanitize and disinfect any problematic areas. Relax with your feet soaking for 10-15 minutes, and then apply your foot scrub (or have a friend do it for you!). Our Stimulating Foot Scrub will exfoliate and wake up your feet, leaving them feeling smooth and pampered.

4.Body

After your feet are done soaking, it’s time to treat the rest of your body. Run a hot shower for yourself and get your bathroom nice and steamy so that your pores can open and release the toxins in your skin. Apply your chosen body scrub, giving each extremity extra love and attention as you massage it into your skin. My favorite is the Chocolate Truffle Scrub, it is moisturizing and exfoliating, and it makes your whole body smell like chocolate! Another favorite is our Moisturizing Salt Scrub - it leaves your body moisturized and glowing, like you just spent a whole day on the beach! After applying the body scrub all over, just stand (or sit if you have a seat in your shower!), enjoy the steam, and let your skin take full advantage of the treat you’ve given it. When you are ready, rinse your body and face (that face mask has hopefully been on this entire time!), and step out of the shower.

5.Moisturize

Now it’s time for the most important part of any skin treatment – moisturizing! Apply your favorite toner to your face first. My favorite is our Jasmine Delights Toner because my skin tends to be on the dry side, I enjoy that it is an anti-inflammatory, and it’s also good for aging skin! If your skin is more oily or problematic, try the Rosemary Aloe Toner. While your toner is drying, apply your body lotion. Did you know you can create your own custom scents of our Luscious Lotion? Check it out! Of course, we can’t forget about our feet. Try our Warming Foot Lotion to keep you relaxed and cozy. After your body is nice and moisturized, apply your face lotion. I use Everyday Face Lotion because it helps keep my skin hydrated but is also very light. If you want something a little heavier, try our Forever Young Luscious Lotion.
